Also, since the alternator died our MD808 scanner now shows the main ECU as being an "unknown variant" even though nothing has changed in that regards. It will drive 2-3 days no problem and then go into limp mode with a pile of CAN communication failures. The alternator let go on it and while we have replaced it with an OEM alternator of the correct amp rating, the van has been weird ever since and I think a high-voltage spike managed to get into it. ![]() The problems I am running into are as follows:ġ) There are multiple sellers with obd in the name, and I am not sure which one is the preferred vendor on this forum.Ģ) Which system do I need? I "think" I need the C4 system and I am leaning towards buying it "complete" with a laptop and everything but I want to make sure before I pull the trigger.ģ) Am I correct in that this will let me re-flash modules as well? Our current "big issue" is with our 2014 Sprinter. I have heard that there are sellers to stay away from on aliexpress, but that there is a legit seller under the name OBD. While we love the fuel efficiency of these vans, never before have I come across a more difficult and annoying vehicle to diagnose when something does go wrong. We have a 2014 Sprinter 2.1L and a 2016 Sprinter, also with a 2.1L. After lots, and lots more reading on this forum, it looks like I need a MB Xentry "Clone". ![]()
